Prerequisite: Applied knowledge of the Elements of Art and Principles of Design, where students may need more to develop these skills, the Advance Art course is recommended.
Age Range: 13-18 years (KS4 & 5)
The framework for the AP Art and Design courses is made up of three big ideas.

Learning Outcomes:
Scholars will gain knowledge on indigenous art practices developed by melanated people from across the globe. This course will foster a strong sense of pride and confidence in your personal style of creating. At the end of the course, our artists will have developed 8-15 select pieces of work for their AP Exam, to be submitted electronically to College Board in May 2027.

Materials Needed for Drawing and 2D Art and Design:
- drawing pad (160gsm and above)
- drawing pencils (2B, 4B & 6B),
- mechanical pencils
- Colour medium examples: markers, colored pencils, paints & paint brushes
- ruler
- glue
